What is augmented reality?

Augmented reality, often abbreviated AR, is "an enhanced version of reality created by the use of technology to overlay digital information on an image of something being viewed through a device (such as a smartphone camera)". That's a really long way to say, "your phone makes it look like Pikachu is in your living room."

What is ARKit?

ARKit is a feature of Apple's software development kid (SDK). Basically, it helps make building AR anything easier than building from scratch. Apple has been one of the leading developers in augmented reality technology, and ARcade has made use of some of its newest features. In ARKit 1.5, objects could be placed on vertical surfaces, which brings augmented reality truly into three dimensions. In the newest release of ARKit, 2.0, Apple released a lot_shared experiences, in particular, opened a lot more doors. Players can now view the same game objects in the same place in the world and interact with them together.

How can I play ARcade?

You can't! Yet. We are currently working on getting the game into the app store, and it should be available to download sometime early 2019 if all goes well. You'll need an iPhone, model 6s or greather and the latest iOS to play.

Can I play without AR?

Nope. ARcade produces games that are entirely AR Native, which means that they live, eat, sweat, and breathe AR. Brick Break-AR can't exist without it.
